With vocals that range from breathy and reverb-drenched to raw and insistent, with crystalline guitar phrases and hooks, plus low frequency beats/synths that will rattle your windows and annoy your neighbours, this album is beautifully dark and draws you deep into its own world of atmospheric introspection.

I remember reading long ago a review of a Black tape album that contained a comparison to Dead Can Dance but it wasn't until revisiting this Archives release just now that I finally got it--this early version of Caught by a stranger does have some of that 4AD vibe (now I can hear it in several songs).
